About the course

This programme offers a comprehensive understanding of the science behind drug discovery, development, delivery, and patient responses to medications. At Strathclyde, the Pharmacy course ranks first in the UK for Pharmacology and Pharmacy (The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024). Students integrate core science with practical placements in community and hospital settings from the start, leverage strong ties to the pharmaceutical industry and international pharmacy schools, learn from expert practitioners, and progress to Year 2 of a five-year accredited Integrated Masters, recognised by the General Pharmaceutical Council.Upon GPhC registration, graduates enjoy strong employment prospects and competitive salaries, mainly in community or hospital pharmacies. Others pursue careers in medical writing, clinical trials, medical sales, research, or academia. Recent roles include Assistant Scientist, Pharmacist, Rotational Pharmacist, and Trainee Pharmacist.
