About the course

This programme develops innovative medical technologies and techniques to enhance patient outcomes. At Strathclyde, Biomedical Engineering ranks 8th in the UK (The Times/Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024) and offers accredited BEng and MEng degrees through IPEM, IMechE, and IET, fulfilling requirements for Incorporated and Chartered Engineer status. Students gain comprehensive training in biomedical, mechanical, and electrical engineering, leveraging state-of-the-art facilities in a historic department, along with opportunities for careers in industry, academia, hospitals, and government. The recent £15.5 million redevelopment of the Wolfson Building provides modern teaching spaces.Biomedical Engineering graduates enter fields such as education, research, medical device regulation, sales, management, consulting, design, and technology. Please note that this course does not award Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
