Economics at Stirling examines how individuals interact with their environment, addressing diverse topics from artificial intelligence in labour markets to climate change, behavioural decision-making, and global inequality. Our degree equips students with advanced analytical tools from field experts, emphasising intellectual curiosity. Through the CORE Project, "Economics for a Changing World," introductory teaching uses real-world data to explore global issues with historical and philosophical depth. We prioritise evidence-based theories over simplified models, integrating specialisms in environmental, behavioural economics, and public policy. The renowned Behavioural Science Centre adds modules on behavioural and experimental economics.If you are passionate about numbers and using mathematics to solve real-world problems, our programme builds specific skills and broad expertise valued across professions. It combines quantitative training with practical application, incorporating computing laboratories for experimental learning. Our Computing Science and Mathematics division fosters a supportive environment, with research focused on applying mathematics to biology, economics, and life sciences, alongside combined Honours degrees.
