Our Computer Games Design degree equips students with essential skills for careers as 3D artists, animators, or games designers. It delves into the creative and technical facets of games production, enabling the development, production, and publication of game titles. Accredited by TIGA, the course maintains industry relevance through partnerships that offer networking opportunities. Students access advanced facilities, including a Vicon Motion Capture Studio, specialist Games Centre, and tools from Sony, Vive, Oculus, Autodesk Creative Suite, Unreal, and Unity engines. Through lectures, tutorials, seminars, and workshops, participants build professional portfolios, culminating in a BSc (Hons) in Computer Games Design.The program includes core and optional modules across years: Year One covers 3D Games Props, Asset Creation, Games Animation, Design Introduction, Mechanics Prototyping, and Project Management. Year Two features 2D Games Creation, Gameplay Design, Junior Collaborative Development, and Systems Design, with options like Advanced Realtime Technologies and C# for Games Designers. Year Three involves placement, while Year Four includes a Games Development Project and Senior Collaborative Development, plus electives such as C++ for Games Designers and Experimental Level Design.Assessments combine formative feedback through practice exercises and summative evaluations via coursework, portfolios, presentations, projects, and examinations, all contributing to final grades.
