About the course

This advanced four-year integrated master's program offers a deep understanding of how drugs interact with receptors, cells, tissues, and organisms. Delivered in a state-of-the-art Life Sciences building, it builds a strong foundation in pharmacology (up to FHEQ level 7), biochemistry, and physiology (at least FHEQ level 5). Graduates acquire essential research skills for diverse careers in laboratory research, pharmacology, neuroscience, and media, supported by opportunities for a year-long employment placement, field trips to locations like the New Forest or Spain, and immersion in leading research groups. With extended projects in specialized areas and guidance from top academics, 99% of graduates enter employment or further study.The curriculum features a flexible range of modules across years, including Chemistry of Life, Fundamentals of Biochemistry, Molecular Pharmacology, and Advanced Research Projects. Assessment methods encompass lectures, tutorials, coursework, individual and group projects, oral presentations, laboratory reports, essays, and written/practical exams, equipping students for professional success.
