About the course

This four-year Modern Languages degree allows you to develop proficiency in French, German, or Spanish while deepening your understanding of the societies and cultures where these languages are spoken. With a 96% employment or further study rate for graduates within 15 months, the programme includes a year abroad on a workplace, teaching, or university placement. You'll enhance language skills, critical thinking, and knowledge of history and thought, immersing yourself in the language and learning to interpret cultural beliefs and behaviours. Tailor your studies to interests such as translation, contemporary society, literature, film, linguistics, anthropology, or history.Modules may include Applications of Linguistics, Language Acquisition, and Audiovisual Translation, offering flexibility based on your chosen language pathway. Assessment involves lectures, classes, tutorials, coursework, individual and group projects, and independent learning, enabling you to build expertise through varied and engaging activities.
