This course develops your creative and critical writing skills, exploring connections between literature, visual culture, science, and politics. Guided by acclaimed novelists, journalists, and playwrights, you'll produce an extended imaginative writing project while choosing from Creative Writing and English options to build knowledge across genres. We encourage links between critical analysis and creative practice, supported by professional opportunities like an arts ambassador scheme, readings, paid internships, and study abroad at global partner universities. Partnerships with Chawton House and the John Hansard Gallery offer access to unique women's writing archives and artworks, complemented by Digital Humanities facilities such as virtual reality and 3D technology.Modules cover topics like Poetic Language, Introduction to Creative Writing, and Holocaust Literature, allowing you to tailor your studies.
