On this degree programme you'll immerse yourself in writing in many varieties of English, from the Early Medieval period to the present day, as well as from around the world. You'll explore the function and status of English around the world, alongside its structure, how it emerged as a language, how it continues to change, and how it varies across speakers its millions of speakers. The course consists of an extremely broad range of complementary topics taught across the departments of English and of Modern Languages and Linguistics and will provide you with specialist training and joint supervision from language and literature experts, all leading to your language and literature dissertation.
