This course provides a solid foundation in the study of linguistics with a focus on the English language. The programme explores the structure of language, how it varies across speakers, how it develops, how it is learned, and how it is used around the world. You’ll gain academic expertise and develop lifelong skills applicable to a variety of settings and career destinations.This course will give you an advanced knowledge of contemporary English, its development, systems and use around the world. You'll learn analytical, research and personal skills relevant to a range of careers.You'll spend your third year studying at a partner university in countries such as Australia, Hong Kong, New Zealand, South Korea, Czech Republic, Canada and Switzerland. You will study a variety of topics that cover the fundamental aspects of English Language and Linguistics, and you will have the opportunity to tailor your course to your interests by choosing some of your modules. You’ll be supported by a personal academic tutor who will offer support and advice throughout your studies.
