About the course

This four-year MEng in Electronic Engineering with Artificial Intelligence builds on the BEng programme, emphasising the design and application of advanced AI techniques, including image processing, computer vision, machine learning, robotic systems, computational biology, and finance. In the first two years, students complete core modules such as circuits, electronic systems, programming, digital systems, devices, fields, forces, materials, and mathematics. The third and fourth years offer extensive optional modules for specialisation, along with group and individual projects that address real industry challenges, enhancing technical, management, and teamwork skills.Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Southampton consistently ranks in the UK top five (Guardian University Guide, Complete University Guide, and The Times and Sunday Times). With £8 million invested in teaching labs and a £100 million clean room complex, the programme prepares graduates for diverse careers through expert faculty, strong employer links, and support from the Careers Hub and Future Worlds incubator. Accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), it ensures industry recognition, with assessments including exams, tests, design exercises, presentations, and group work.
