Biomedical Engineering, MEng (Hons), with industry placement

Our MEng in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Southampton offers an optional year in industry after Year 3, assessed by academics and experts, to enhance employability by linking academic knowledge to real-world applications. This programme integrates biomedicine, electronics, and digital health technologies to address future healthcare challenges, equipping students with skills to design and deliver innovative medical products.The course begins with foundational modules in electronics, programming, and life sciences, followed by specialisation in areas such as Artificial Intelligence or Digital Health. Subsequent years include pathway-specific modules, an individual project in Year 3, and a group design project in Year 4. Students access advanced facilities like the high-resolution 3D imaging centre. Assessment encompasses examinations, tests, design exercises, presentations, and group work, preparing graduates for the global health technology sector.
