This three-year Biology and Marine Biology degree explores living organisms from molecular levels to entire ecosystems, viewed through an evolutionary lens. Students engage in lectures, laboratory work, and fieldwork in the UK and abroad, preparing for careers in research, conservation, fisheries, and habitat management. Based at the National Oceanography Centre Southampton, a global leader in ocean science, the program offers hands-on experience aboard the research vessel R.V. Callista. It is accredited by the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST), with 98% of graduates employed or in further study within 15 months.The curriculum includes a variety of modules, such as Data Literacy & Analysis, Earth & Ocean Systems, and Marine Invertebrates, allowing students to tailor their studies.
