Audiology, BSc (Hons)

This three-year audiology program provides comprehensive knowledge and essential clinical, professional, and employability skills for a healthcare career. Students receive hands-on training from day one, learning from leading clinicians and researchers at the UK's only university with in-house audiology and auditory implant services. Practical sessions in a dedicated skills laboratory, combined with a 27-week placement starting at the end of year two, consolidate expertise. Career preparation includes developing clinical and professional portfolios, plus opportunities to network with representatives from the NHS, private sectors, and hearing aid companies at an annual event.The curriculum features modules such as introductions to professional practice, clinical placements, biopsychosocial basis of audiology, and optional subjects across years one to three. Assessment methods encompass written exams, oral presentations, group projects, Observed Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs), and professional portfolios. The program is accredited by the Academy of Healthcare Science, British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists, and Health and Care Professions Council.
