The MArc is a four-year first degree in Archaeology suitable for those who wish to study archaeology in greater depth than a three-year BA. From the Aztecs and Mayans to Ancient Egypt, the Roman Empire and the medieval world, you'll study the story of human activity and the origins of civilisation. You'll explore how human societies came into being, how and why they changed over time, and the underlying reasons for human diversity today. You'll learn how to handle, describe and interpret archaeological objects and data. As you become more confident, you'll recognise and interpret your finds in the field and carry out advanced archaeological techniques. Flexible module options allow you to choose your own path and focus on areas like museums and heritage management, studying human and animal bones, environmental impact assessment, and maritime archaeology. Our digital humanities facilities will allow you to study and research through cutting-edge technology, such as virtual reality, 3D scanners and printers, and a 360 degree fully immersive audio-visual centre. These technologies will enable you to start exploring in new and immersive ways.
