This programme provides essential knowledge and skills to understand contemporary societies, their transformations, and the dynamics of crime and criminal justice. In Sociology, you will explore social processes that shape individuals, groups, and institutions, while connecting theoretical concepts to key dimensions of social differentiation, including gender, class, race, age, sexuality, and education. In Criminology, you will gain insights into criminological theories, methodologies, and issues such as criminalisation, victimisation, crime causes, prevention, social inequalities, punishment, and media portrayals. Interactive small-group teaching fosters deep discussions, enhancing your grasp of societal influences and the complexities of social problems and policies.Through Sociology, you will develop vital social science skills, such as analysing evidence, crafting arguments, and communicating effectively, preparing you for careers in government, charities, and commerce.
