About the course

Our three-year BA in Philosophy, Business and Ethics encourages deep critical thinking about the fundamental ideas underlying human behaviours, values, and organisational practices. Offered collaboratively by the triple-accredited Henley Business School and the University of Reading’s Department of Philosophy, this programme emphasises business ethics, enabling students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world situations. Its flexible structure enhances employability and prepares graduates for professional careers by integrating philosophical inquiry with practical business skills.Throughout the course, students will develop a solid grasp of business management theories and practices, while examining personal beliefs and engaging with contemporary philosophical debates. Key elements include ethical analysis, social responsibility, and the application of core theories to business contexts. Core modules encompass Reason and Argument, The Meaning of Life, Business in Practice, Ethical Argument, and Social Responsibility in Action. For further details, visit the programme page at https://www.reading.ac.uk/ready-to-study/study/subject-area/philosophy-ug/ba-philosophy-business-ethics.
