Philosophy, BA (Hons), with industry placement

Our BA in Philosophy invites you to explore fundamental concepts of truth, reality, ethics, and societal norms while critically challenging established perspectives.At the University of Reading, this programme develops logical thinking, critical argument evaluation, and the ability to question ideas. You will gain in-depth knowledge of key philosophical principles, texts, and figures, guided by experts in moral philosophy, mind, and language, with opportunities to study non-Western traditions like Indian philosophy. The degree offers flexibility: in your first year, you take six modules, including the compulsory Reason and Argument, and can select interdisciplinary options. Later years allow deeper exploration of topics such as Ethics and Animals or Philosophy of Religion through interactive seminars.
