Modern Languages (French/German/Italian/Spanish), BA (Hons)

Gain the skills to move with confidence through a variety of languages and cultures. You'll develop your skills as a versatile linguist through speaking, listening, writing, learning grammar, and translating – with the aim of becoming fluent in your chosen language(s).On this course you will be able to study one, two or three languages in combination. Our four core languages – French, German, Italian and Spanish – can be studied on their own, combined with each other, or with one of our additional languages – Arabic, British Sign Language, Chinese (Mandarin), Japanese, Modern Greek and Russian. Core studies include cultural as well as language modules. You will be able to expand your linguistic skills and intercultural understanding of core languages by spending a year abroad.We also offer a three-year BA Modern Languages course (R901) open to students who are not in a position to spend a full year abroad.
