It includes an integrated year-long work placement in industries like finance, logistics, and technology with organisations such as Microsoft, IBM, and the NHS, ensuring you graduate with practical experience.Our programme is informed by world-leading research, with 98% rated as internationally excellent (REF 2021, Mathematical Sciences), covering topics like calculus, analysis, linear algebra, and differential equations. In the Economics Department, you'll learn from policy-influencing academics, gaining in-depth knowledge of microeconomics and macroeconomics, with options in econometrics or economic theory from the second year. The University ranks 10th in the UK for Business and Economics (Times Higher Education 2024). Core modules include Real Analysis 1, Calculus, Foundations of Mathematics, Linear Algebra, Quantitative Methods and Data Analysis, and Mathematical Methods for Economics, subject to final approval.
