Our BSc International Development programme equips students to address global challenges and foster positive change. This interdisciplinary degree draws expertise from across the University, allowing specialisation in areas such as poverty, inequality, resource sustainability, aid politics, and food systems. As the world undergoes rapid and uneven transformations, the course explores critical issues like growing inequalities despite poverty reduction. Students can customise their studies with optional modules and learn from experts in fields including Geography, Economics, Politics, and the School of Agriculture, Policy and Development, including affiliates of the Global Development Division and renowned research centres.Core modules for 2025/26 include Global Sustainability: Challenges and Prospects; International Development: Global and Local Issues; The Economic Environment; Alternative Voices: Changing Perspectives of International Development; Approaches to International Development; and Power and Development.
