About the course

Discover the key concepts of economics and human geography through our BSc in Geography and Economics (Regional Science) with Professional Experience. This four-year programme explores topics such as globalisation, consumerism, sustainability, epidemic management, and responses to climate change. It features an integrated placement year between the second and final years, providing hands-on workplace experience. Delivered by experts from the Departments of Geography and Environmental Science and Economics, the course addresses challenges at local, regional, national, and global levels, including the spatial effects of economic processes and the economic impacts of social dynamics.Students will critically analyse resource allocation, its consequences for social and economic wellbeing, consumerism and sustainability issues, employment and development, urban regeneration, and the application of micro- and macro-economics to globalisation. Sample modules include Approaching Human Geography, Principles of Economics, Intermediate Microeconomics, Intermediate Macroeconomics, Climate Change and Responsibilities, and Consumption, Politics and Space.
