Discover how economic theory addresses today's key domestic and global challenges while developing essential workplace skills through our BA Economics with Placement Year programme. This four-year degree emphasises applying economic tools to various markets and scenarios, equipping you with the expertise to tackle issues confronting policymakers and businesses worldwide. You will explore topics like economic growth, business cycle management, inflation, unemployment, and work structures, using theories such as game theory, strategic interactions, and behavioural experiments to inform policy decisions.Core modules include Principles of Economics 1 and 2, Applied Economics and Policy, Quantitative Methods and Data Analysis, and Intermediate Microeconomics. These are provisionally approved for 2025/26 and subject to final university confirmation. Optional modules may not be available to all, with updated details forthcoming in summer 2024.
