About the course

This BSc in Consumer Behaviour and Marketing equips students to analyse consumer thinking and its critical role in marketing and policy development. As one of the UK's pioneering programmes, it integrates disciplines such as consumer behaviour, business, marketing, applied psychology, and economics. Taught by experts from Henley Business School, the course benefits from the University of Reading's 14th UK ranking in Marketing (Complete University Guide, 2024) and insights from industry speakers. In the final year, students can undertake a marketing consultancy project with a real organisation or an independent research project on topics like brands, globalisation, or technology. The programme is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), offering exemptions from most CIM certification modules. A one-year placement, available in the UK or abroad with companies like BMW or Microsoft, allows students to develop skills in areas such as social media analysis and brand strategy, subject to strong academic performance. Core modules include Consumer Psychology, Global Sustainability, and Consumer Attitudes and Behaviour, though availability may vary pending final approval. For further details, visit the programme page.
