About the course

Our BSc Chemistry degree provides a comprehensive and adaptable education, equipping students with essential skills for diverse careers in chemistry. In the first two years, students cover foundational topics such as periodic table trends, carbonyl chemistry, and chemical kinetics. Those without A-level Maths can take a dedicated module to build necessary skills. The final year explores advanced subjects, including nanotechnology, synthesis, polymers, advanced materials, surface science, and forensic analysis, with options for research projects and collaboration with leading researchers. Teaching involves lectures, lab sessions, workshops, and tutorials, and all courses are accredited by the Royal Society of Chemistry.Sample modules may include Mathematics for Chemists, Fundamentals of Atomic Structure and the Periodic Table, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Core Cosmetic Science, and Chemistry in the Natural World, subject to availability and final approval. For further details, visit the course page.
