The BA in Art and Film at Reading School of Art allows students to explore film from the late 19th century to the present, while honing professional practices under the mentorship of renowned artists and curators. Students delve into the practical and theoretical aspects of both disciplines, examining their mutual influences within a vibrant creative community. This includes experimenting with diverse media, emerging art forms, and contemporary theory, supported by 24/7 studio access, regular events, and guidance from dedicated tutors. Opportunities for professional development arise through exhibitions, public commissions, and trips to museums and galleries.In Film studies, modules cover world cinema, digital entertainment, video art, and Hollywood genres like musicals and Hitchcock films. Practical components integrate with theoretical learning, utilising state-of-the-art facilities in the Minghella building, such as studios and editing suites.
