About the course

This BPS-accredited degree in Psychology and Education empowers you to foster a more just world by blending psychological insights—such as social psychology, cognitive development, health, and neuroscience—with educational principles like values, safeguarding, and special needs. You'll develop a unique perspective on learning, growth, and thriving, gaining versatile skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and data analysis for careers in psychology, education, and beyond. Hands-on teaching, a placement year, and research apprenticeships provide real-world experience, preparing you for postgraduate paths like clinical, educational, forensic, or organizational psychology.In Year 1, explore core psychology theories (learning, social, developmental, clinical, cognitive, physiological) while building research, IT, communication, and critical thinking skills. Year 2 emphasizes practical research, experiment design, and deeper dives into cognitive, developmental, social, clinical psychology, plus pedagogy principles. An optional Year 3 placement offers UK-based professional experience with certification. In the final year, specialize in four of sixteen psychology topics (e.g., health, occupational, neuropsychology) taught by active researchers, conduct a supervised project, and select education modules on wellbeing, gender, societal factors, or childhood risk.
