About the course

This Environmental Geography degree examines relationships between people, places, and the environment, addressing past, present, and future challenges across spatial scales and global contexts. It equips students with knowledge and skills to tackle planetary issues, aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. Flexible pathways allow selection of physical geography (GGP), human geography (GGH), Environmental Science (ENVS), and Environmental Management and Sustainability (ENVM) modules. Innovative, student-centred teaching includes lectures, seminars, practicals, residential fieldwork, tutorials, and dissertation support, with training in Geographical Information Systems for analysing spatial data.Enhance employability through optional work placements, a second-year study abroad in Europe, Canada, Australia, USA, or elsewhere via bilateral/ISEP exchanges, and applied geography focus. Benefit from our Plymouth location amid Dartmoor National Park, Tamar Valley, South Hams Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and Devon/Cornwall’s stunning coasts and estuaries, fostering a diverse, respectful learning environment.
