Ecology and Conservation, BSc (Hons), with industry placement

The BSc (Hons) Ecology and Conservation programme equips students with theoretical and practical biological expertise to appraise, monitor, and manage species, habitats, and ecosystems for conservation. Core studies include ecology, behaviour, evolution, and genetics, alongside real-world challenges, ethical issues, stakeholder engagement, and analytical techniques for in- and ex-situ conservation, sustainable land management, and development. The degree trains future ecologists and conservation biologists, forming part of the Biology Subject Group (BSG) scheme alongside Zoology and Biological Sciences, with synergies to other School programmes like Marine Biology.Key features encompass a strong scientific foundation, in-depth field studies with Year 1 and 2 courses (international, UK, or mixed options), practical skills in analytical tools, contemporary issues, and links to conservation organisations.
