Our BSc Sport Rehabilitation programme, accredited by the British Association of Sport Rehabilitators and Trainers (BASRaT), equips students with essential knowledge and skills to become confident professionals. It focuses on clinical assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for patients and athletes of all ages, emphasizing injury prevention, health, wellbeing, and performance enhancement. In a supportive environment, students design and implement exercise programmes while gaining practical experience through over 400 hours of placements in sporting settings, including the University Sports Injury Clinic. Access to excellent facilities at the David Ross Sports Village further enriches learning.The first year introduces foundational concepts in anatomy, physiology, and human movement. The second year balances academic study with clinical placements, advancing skills in sports injury management, prevention, nutrition, and exercise physiology. In the third year, students undertake additional placements alongside optional modules on topics like strength and conditioning, business skills, and disability in sport, plus a research and community-based project. In year one, you'll be introduced to the academic concepts and practical skills required for professional practice. This includes anatomy, physiology and human movement. Year two is divided between academic study and a clinical placement in a sport rehabilitation or exercise-related setting. You'll further develop your knowledge and skills in the management of sports injuries, injury prevention, nutrition and exercise physiology for performance enhancement. Placements continue in year three, alongside a choice of optional modules, a research project and a community-based project. Optional module topics may include: business and management skills, strength and conditioning, disability in sport, management of pain.
