The program covers historical periods from the early medieval era to the present, with a global focus on regions such as Europe, Africa, and Asia. Modules draw from the latest research by tutors, linking historical perspectives to contemporary issues including conflict, politics, the environment, religion, social attitudes, consumerism, gender and identity, and health humanities.In the first year, introductory modules establish a foundational knowledge base, exploring diverse periods, regions, and approaches to prepare for advanced study. Year two offers choices in medieval, early modern, modern, and contemporary history across various global areas and methods. In the final year, students undertake a dissertation, specialize in a historical area, analyze primary sources, and select two optional modules from a broad array of themes, places, and periods.
