Electrical engineers design and develop technologies for generating and processing power, with their equipment facilitating the distribution of electrical energy—such as Smart Grid systems for renewable sources—and supporting various manufacturing industries. These innovations also power hybrid and electric vehicles, trains, ships, and aircraft. This course provides specialized electrical knowledge and skills to contribute to a sustainable future. Through individual and team-based lab projects, students gain essential problem-solving and design abilities. The third year involves an industry placement, where students can apply for available positions or arrange their own, while remaining registered with the university and meeting regularly with tutors. By integrating numerical, analytical, and technical expertise, graduates will be equipped to deliver industry-demanded solutions. All electrical and electronic courses share the same content in the first two years, enabling specialization in the third, and BEng graduates can register as Incorporated Engineers or pursue Chartered Engineer status with the Engineering Council.
