About the course

Electrical and electronic engineers design, develop, test, and manage innovative technologies, including power generation, processing, and applications in drones, electric vehicles, smartphones, navigation systems, and hospital equipment. This course equips students with specialised knowledge and skills for a sustainable future through lab-based projects, individual and team work, and integration of numerical, analytical, and technical expertise to solve real-world problems. The first two years cover core content, allowing specialisation in year three. Year four involves an industry placement, with students remaining registered at the university and receiving tutor support. The five-year MEng programme offers deeper insights into electrical engineering for Chartered Engineer status. In subsequent years, students build foundational principles, enhance design skills, explore specialist topics, and undertake advanced research projects.
