Electrical and Electronic Engineering, MEng (Hons), with industry placement

Electrical and electronic engineers design, develop, test, and oversee innovative technologies, from power generation and processing to drones, electric vehicles, smartphones, sat navs, and hospital systems.This course equips you with essential engineering expertise for careers in engineering or related fields through lab-based projects, fostering numerical, analytical, and technical skills via individual and team problem-solving. All students begin with a common programme, enabling switches until the end of year two's third semester, plus options to add/remove a year abroad or industry placement. Year four involves an industry placement, with university registration and tutor support maintained. From year three, specialise in preferred topics. MEng offers include a contextual BEng pathway. Ranked 10th (Guardian University Guide 2025) and 9th (Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2025) in the UK, accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology, with practical labs and customizable modules.
