Information Systems: Supply Chain Management, Bachelor

As an information systems student at KU, you will receive a broad and varied education as well as specific training in information technology, allowing you to work nearly anywhere upon graduation.  Whether you work in a consulting firm providing services for clients or within a company, you will be pivotal to the technological skill and advancement of the company.  As a business student, you can add a concentration in an area that interests you to diversify your education.The information systems major requires a total of 120 credit-hours including general education classes, which meet the requirements of the KU Core, and additional courses including MATH 115, PSYC 104 and a natural science with lab.  You will also take 20 credit-hours in foundation business classes and 18 credit-hours of core business classes.  For your information systems major you will take 15 additional hours of specific information systems classes and six credit-hours of information systems electives.  Your career in the business school will culminate in a capstone course, Business Policy & Strategy (MGMT 498), where you will apply the skills you acquire toward cases and projects.As a KU business student, you will be required to complete an International Dimension Requirement (IDR).  You can meet this by taking foreign language classes or proving equivalent proficiency through the fourth level (intermediate II).  You can also fulfill this requirement by completing six credit-hours through any approved study abroad program or through classes in contemporary regional/international studies or international business.With a degree in information systems, you will be qualified to work in nearly any field.  You will be able to skillfully navigate databases and other information systems, work needed in almost every field.  This allows you a broad range of job opportunities when you graduate from the KU information systems program.
