About the course

The Chinese Language and Literature program requires 31 junior/senior credit hours, with at least 9 hours completed at KU. Requirements were last updated in September 2013, so students should consult their EALC advisor for current details.Required courses are: CHIN504-508 (10 credits), CHIN542 (3 credits), CHIN562 (3 credits), CHIN564 or CHIN544 or Chinese Linguistics (3 credits), ECIV304 or 305 (3 credits), Chinese Literature or Culture in translation (3 credits, taught by an EALC faculty member or approved study abroad course), Premodern China or East Asia (3 credits), and Modern China or East Asia (3 credits). Honors 499 may substitute for the last two requirements.
