About the course

The B.S. in Biology with a Teaching Biology emphasis equips students with a robust foundation in biology while fulfilling the coursework necessary for Kansas state teaching licensure at the secondary level. This program is managed in partnership with the UKanTeach initiative and features core courses such as cell structure and function, ecology, evolutionary biology, and research methods in biology.Degree requirement check sheets are available for students entering KU in or after Fall 2014, from Fall 2013 through Spring 2014, and from Fall 2009 through Spring 2013. Students should consult these sheets alongside their current Degree Progress Report (DPR), meet regularly with an academic advisor, consider the major's admission requirements, and review sample four-year plans to develop a personalized degree completion strategy.
