About the course

Our extended BSc (Hons) Psychology with a foundation year delves into adult and child psychology, brain function, and real-world applications. Designed for students without standard entry requirements, the programme begins with a foundation year focusing on psychology, research methods, and study skills to build readiness for degree-level study. Subsequently, students progress to the three-year course, covering topics from cognitive psychology and neuroscience to developmental and social psychology. Accredited by the British Psychological Society, successful graduates with second-class honours or above gain eligibility for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership, facilitating pathways to chartered psychologist training. This course also develops technical and interpersonal skills valued across various employers.Ranked seventh in the UK for graduate careers and first in London for prospects (according to 2021 Guardian and 2022 Complete University Guide), the programme offers strong support through one-to-one meetings, small group tutorials, and specialist assistance. The foundation year includes modules on psychology, health, wellbeing, research methods, and study skills, with subsequent modules co-taught alongside the standard BSc. Assessments vary by module, potentially including a mix of methods, while all content aligns with professional standards.
