About the course

Our extended degree in criminology and criminal psychology begins with a foundation year to build essential skills for degree-level study, followed by the same modules as the standard three-year program. Designed for those interested in crime, psychology, and the criminal justice system, it introduces key concepts in criminology and criminal psychology, including offender profiling, stalking psychopathology, gender and race issues, crime scene investigation, and terrorism. Students can also participate in a work placement to apply their knowledge and skills, with graduates pursuing careers in policy, research, policing, social care, welfare, and organizations like HM Revenue and Customs.Key features include a foundation year for lower entry requirements, coverage of crime's nature, causes, and responses through major theoretical frameworks, and an integrated exploration of social and state control methods. Note that this degree does not offer British Psychological Society accreditation. Modules consist of compulsory and optional units, assessed via various methods, with full details available on our website.
