Our MBiol in Biology provides a dynamic exploration of life's processes, combining bachelor's-level modules with advanced master's study. Delivered by the School of Science and the Natural Resources Institute, it offers a comprehensive, multidisciplinary understanding of biology, covering topics such as cancer therapeutics, plant ecology, and neuroscience. Students undertake two research projects to build essential analytical and problem-solving skills, while gaining an international focus through learning from global experts, field trips, and placements abroad. This prepares graduates to address pressing challenges, like feeding a growing population in a changing climate or treating diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.Career opportunities are extensive, including industrial and medical research in government or commercial laboratories, consultancy in biomedical science, biotechnology, or agribusiness, and pathways to a PhD. Key highlights include its ranking as 3rd in the UK by The Guardian University Guide (2025), specialisation options from year two, and teaching at our Medway Campus in Chatham Maritime, Kent.
