The History programme at Glasgow examines change and continuity in human societies across time, offering a comprehensive curriculum from medieval to modern eras and spanning global contexts. It features small group teaching, diverse assessments such as policy papers and blogs, and personalized feedback tutorials. The university hosts prominent research centres in gender history, war studies, slavery studies, American studies, and Scottish and Celtic studies, with teaching informed by world-leading expertise in Scottish, British, European, U.S., and global history, as well as slavery, gender, and war-related fields.The Latin programme focuses on the study of the Latin language, literature, and Roman civilisation, including opportunities for students to visit archaeological sites and museums in Italy as part of their studies.
