Neural Engineering with Psychology, BEng (Hons), with industry placement

Neural Engineering, an emerging field within Biomedical Engineering, harnesses disciplines like engineering, mathematics, biophysics, computer science, and psychology to address neurological disorders and develop advanced brain-computer interfaces. This BEng programme equips students with essential skills to lead in creating transformative technologies, through collaboration with the Department of Psychology for a strong foundation in cognitive processes. Key areas include brain-computer interfaces, neural signal analysis, neuroimaging, human experimentation, neuroscience, brain behaviour, and artificial intelligence.The programme fosters innovation in a vibrant community of top engineers, emphasizing creativity and technical excellence to produce graduates ready to impact society. In the first year, students learn programming with Python, with early assessments and support to build confidence.
