Our challenging LLB English and French Law course offers an enriching intellectual exploration of both legal traditions, positioning you for qualification in the UK and France. The first two years at Essex cover essential English Law modules to meet solicitor or barrister training requirements, alongside French Law taught in French. You will examine legal rules, societal roles, philosophy, and reforms, including topics such as government branches, constitutional law, trusts, negligence, and criminal liability.In your third year, study at a French partner institution to earn the Licence en Droit. This three-year programme, updated post-2016 reforms, provides flexibility for pursuing a two-year integrated Masters in France.
