About the course

Social psychology examines how society and surrounding individuals—real, implied, or imagined—influence human behavior. This degree explores key theories, research evidence, and critical evaluation skills, supported by research-led teaching in varied group sizes. UEA’s School of Psychology ranks 14th for research quality (Times Higher Education REF 2021). Students receive guidance from academic advisors, access to Learning Enhancement and Wellbeing Teams, and a four-week pre-arrival module. The program covers theories, methods, and topics like forensic psychology, pro/antisocial behavior, mental health, social groups, and behavioral change. Flexible module choices allow pathway switches after year one, with an optional third-year placement. Final-year facilities include VR suites, eye-tracking, and motion-tracking for an individual research project on topics such as substance use or prejudice. Graduates pursue careers in market research, HR, healthcare, or social services, with postgraduate options and career support available. Course details subject to change; confirm at www.uea.ac.uk.
