Psychology is the scientific study of human behaviour and cognition, exploring how nature, nurture, biology, culture, genes, and environment shape thoughts, feelings, and actions. Students critically evaluate contemporary theories, engage with research evidence, and develop original ideas through research-led teaching in varied group sizes. UEA’s School of Psychology ranks 14th for research quality in Psychology, Psychiatry, and Neuroscience (Times Higher Education REF 2021). Support includes academic advisors, Learning Enhancement and Wellbeing Teams, and a four-week pre-arrival module.The BSc Psychology with Placement Year bridges behavioural and social sciences for real-world applications, covering qualitative and quantitative research. Flexible modules allow first-year pathway changes; year three offers a work placement for hands-on experience; year four features an independent research project.
