About the course

Psychology is the scientific study of human behaviour and mental processes. Students explore how nature, nurture, biology, culture, genes, and environment shape thoughts, feelings, and actions. The programme offers research-led teaching in varied group sizes, with UEA’s School of Psychology ranked 14th for research quality in Psychology, Psychiatry, and Neuroscience (Times Higher Education REF 2021). Support includes personal academic advisors, Learning Enhancement and Wellbeing Teams, and a four-week pre-arrival module. The BSc Psychology with a Year Abroad bridges behavioural and social sciences, applying theories to real-world issues via qualitative and quantitative research. Students select modules, switch pathways if needed, spend third year at a partner university, and complete a final-year research project. Graduates develop employable skills for careers in HR, teaching, media, research, marketing, healthcare, and more, with career support including placements.
