Our flagship Physics Master’s programme offers flexibility to explore physics in depth, whether for personal interest or a career as a professional scientist. Core modules are complemented by optional ones in astrophysics, quantum physics, geophysics, fluid mechanics, and computing, developing skills in mathematics, communication, teamwork, research, problem-solving, and computing—highly valued by employers.In years three and four, students undertake interest-aligned research projects, including options to collaborate with staff specialisms, pursue independent ideas, or partner on medical physics with the adjacent hospital. Small classes, supportive staff, and world-class facilities with hands-on experiments foster practical expertise.
