This course explores how societies' views, beliefs, and actions are reflected in visual and material culture across the world, from prehistory to the present. Based at the renowned Sainsbury Centre in Norwich, students join a unique community as the only UK Art History Department housed in a world-class museum. It delivers a strong foundation in archaeology, anthropology, and art history, equipping learners with skills to analyze global artifacts and understand their role in contemporary society.Emphasizing creativity as a global phenomenon, the program covers European art alongside works from Africa, Asia, Oceania, and the Americas. A placement year provides valuable work experience and employability skills. Students engage with the Centre's collections, learn about collecting processes, and benefit from international networks, leading to careers in cultural and heritage sectors.
