About the course

This degree addresses the increasing demand for structural engineers with a strong grasp of architectural principles in construction, emphasizing the conceptualization, design, analysis, construction, and maintenance of infrastructure. Students will explore core Civil Engineering topics, such as geotechnical engineering for foundations, sustainable construction, and project management, alongside Architecture modules covering structure and form, historical and contemporary designs, and the interplay between architecture, cities, infrastructure, and society. This integrated approach builds a solid foundation for careers in structural or civil engineering, with a focus on design. From the outset, the program incorporates digital tools for advanced structural analysis, parametric design, and Building Information Modelling (BIM). As studies advance, learners will deepen their understanding of architectural practices in conjunction with civil engineering principles, preparing them for real-world applications. The final year features multidisciplinary design projects or industry internships to foster creativity, while group activities throughout the degree enhance team-working and communication skills.
