In the initial two years of the programme, students establish a strong foundation in core concepts of politics and geography, including modules such as Global Challenges (level 1) and International Relations (level 2), alongside Dynamic Human Worlds. Opportunities exist to select additional subjects like history, psychology, or languages to complement these areas. In years three and four, students typically pursue an equal balance of advanced modules in politics (or international relations) and geography, taught by experts with proven research credentials. Options in politics and international relations include topics like Russian politics, nationalism, human rights, and environmental sustainability. Third-year geography requirements focus on human or physical aspects while building research skills, and in the fourth year, students can freely choose modules from both disciplines, with a compulsory dissertation that may be completed in either field.
