This programme offers a comprehensive overview of fundamental civil engineering topics, including geomechanics, structural analysis, surveying, materials, and fluid mechanics. Students apply this knowledge to develop creative and innovative designs while addressing key professional concerns such as health, safety, and management. Collaborative projects enhance communication and teamwork skills, with opportunities for site visits, industry trips, and vocational placements providing practical experience. As the only Scottish university involved in the CMS Collaboration at CERN, we enable student visits to this major experiment. Our Civil Engineering society organises social events and maintains strong ties with the Institute of Civil Engineers. The course is accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators, fully meeting the educational requirements for Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status.
