As an environmental design major, you will analyze the needs and preferences of communities, examining how design interacts with the natural environment, social structures, and political systems to influence what is built, where, and how. You will develop designs and plans across scales—from buildings to neighborhoods and regions—to enhance spaces for living, working, and recreation.At the University at Buffalo (UB), we train community-focused designers and planners in skills such as policy analysis, geographic information systems, architectural design, and environmental law. You will actively participate in our vibrant community of innovators through hands-on projects that extend from the classroom to real-world settings.
